The Institute contains two formation tracks: one for parish volunteers, and another for parish staff. Each is offered in both English and Spanish.

Track 1: Formation for the Lay Apostolate is designed for volunteer lay persons serving in parishes, such as catechists, parish council members, trustees, pastoral care ministers, youth group leaders, and anyone who has a call to grow as a missionary disciple and deepen their faith. It requires completion of the Intensive Year for Missionary Discipleship.

Track 2: Formation for Lay Ecclesial Ministry is designed for lay persons serving on staff in parishes (especially new hires), such as catechetical leaders, pastoral ministers, worship coordinators, youth and young adult ministers, RCIA/OCIA coordinators, and discipleship coordinators. It provides the necessary theological, scriptural, and ministerial formation for lay ministers serving on parish staffs. It begins with a 4-day workshop, “Basic Ministry for Parish Life”.
